Mediri

Mediri GmbH

Mediri GmbH, founded 2004, is a group of highly qualified research scientists from several fields of medical research and computational science. Mediri provides research services to scientific work groups in the broad field of medical imaging. Extensive knowledge and experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), ultrasound (US) imaging, real-time image processing, post-processing and medical imaging study design was build up. Prior work performed at mediri includes the development of US-motion tracking solutions for radiation therapy, positron emission tomography (PET) and MRI. Moreover mediri worked on hybrid US-MR imaging. Twice, in 2004 and 2006, mediri was awarded the Innovation award by the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Today mediri is involved in several national and international research projects founded by the Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the European Union (FP 7). Mediri is currently on its way to get ISO certification for its quality management and assurance processes (ISO 13485). It is assumed that this will be achieved before the start of this project.

Key staff:

Dr. rer. nat. Jürgen Jenne has over 18 years of experience in the field of medical ultrasound, therapeutic ultrasound and US-therapy monitoring, especially MR guided FUS. He was first technical leader and later head of the “Therapeutic Ultrasound Group” at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ). In 2000 e.g. they realized the first MRgFUS patient treatment of breast cancer (Cancer Res 2001). After his move to mediri GmbH, Heidelberg, he continued research on MRgFUS and US induce BBB manipulation at the DKFZ and with Stephen Meairs, University Heidelberg, on sonothrombolysis. In addition, he is leading scientist in the ultrasound motion tracking project at mediri since 2007.
